What is the Founders Award?

The Professional Animal Care Certification Council Founders Award recognizes certified professionals for distinguished contributions to the pet care industry. Recipients of the Founders Award exemplify PACCC’s standards in their individual institutions and elevate our profession as a whole.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the PACCC Founders Award, nominees must:

  • Hold a current PACCC Certification at any certification level.
  • Have an established career in the pet care industry through business ownership, leadership, nonprofit involvement, volunteer service, education, mentorship, or other meaningful contributions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to advancing PACCC’s mission by promoting the value of professional certification and helping elevate standards within the pet care industry.
  • Be nominated by themselves or by a colleague, peer, or fellow industry professional.

Selection Process

  • All nominations are reviewed by the PACCC Nominations Committee using a standardized evaluation rubric.
  • Committee members independently score each nomination before meeting to discuss the results and select a recommended recipient.
  • The committee’s recommendation is presented to the PACCC Board of Directors for final approval at the August board meeting.
  • The award recipient is recognized during the annual Board of Directors dinner, receives a commemorative plaque, and is honored on the PACCC website and social media channels in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession.
