Since the year 2000, total U.S. pet industry expenditures have doubled. In 2015, expenditures are expected to reach over $60 billion. As expected, more and more people are entering the pet care business and doing so with ease, due to the lack of industry standards and regulations. This rapid growth of the industry has made it extremely difficult for pet parents to know who to trust with their pet care needs. Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC), a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization incorporated in the state of New York, was created to address this issue by establishing pet care industry standards and certification. The board of directors is made up of experienced pet industry professionals, as well as concerned pet parents across the United States and Canada, all of whom share a passion for keeping pets safe.
